The Calgary Community Orchestra was originally founded by Carlos Foggin in 2014 as a recreational ensemble for amateur musicians in Calgary, AB. In 2016, the CCO disbanded, and its members incorporated under the name Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra (RMSO), performing over 80 concerts across nearly 20 venues over the course of nine seasons, from 2016–2025.

In the summer of 2025, following the departure of RMSO’s Founder & Music Director Laureate, Carlos Foggin, the dormant Community Orchestra was revived and reimagined under the name MARQUIS MUSIC. The orchestra remains a community-based ensemble, with carefully managed instrument sections to maintain proper orchestral balance.

The Chamber Orchestra brings together musicians in a spirit of friendship and collaboration, with plans to expand into additional ensembles and configurations, including an Opera Orchestra, Brass Choir, Wind Ensemble, and Chorus.

The Marquis Chamber Orchestra comprises the following instrumentation:
10 violins, 3 violas, 3 cellos, 1 bass, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, 3 trombones (as needed), timpani
